Biographie
Photographe professionnel depuis 2015, né à Saint Quentin en Picardie en 1978 et installé dans la région toulousaine depuis 1983. La majeure partie de mon enfance s’est déroulée dans le Tarn. Ingénieur-Maître en Systèmes Informatiques, j’ai créé mon entreprise à l’âge de 25 ans.
J’ai commencé à m’intéresser de nouveau à la Photographie en Janvier 2015, suite à un de mes nombreux voyages à Barcelone, ville dont je suis littéralement tombé amoureux.
Passionné par la technique, autodidacte, j'ai approfondi ma formation grâce à des dizaines de livres. Je travaille essentiellement avec des modèles mais j’apprécie aussi le paysage et la "street photography". Mon style est en général doux et naturel, plus rarement sombre ou décalé. Dans la mesure du possible, j’aime travailler avec du sens, que l’émotion soit perceptible et vienne compléter l’esthétique de mes clichés. Techniquement, mes clichés ont souvent l'aspect de la photographie argentique bien que je travaille uniquement ou presque en numérique.
Mon travail 'parle' de liberté, de sensualité. Le corps sans norme, sans âge, sans honte.
Les photographes qui m'inspirent le plus sont Lucien Clergue, Jean-François Jonvelle, JeanLoup Sieff parmi les 'maîtres' et plus récemment Ruslan Lovanov, Corwin Prescott, Formento&Formento ou Nicolas Guerin parmi tant d'autres !
Malgré une identité et des thèmes qui s'imposent à moi, je continue d'explorer de nouvelles techniques et de nouveaux projets. Avec pour objectif de rester libre et créatif.

Laurent was born in 1978 in Saint Quentin, Picardy. Though much of his childhood was spent in the Tarn region, after qualifying as a Master Engineer in Computer Systems, he subsequently decided to settle in Toulouse, starting his own business at the age of 25.
After one of his many trips to Barcelona - a city he loves, he found anew his passion for
photography. Although his first engagements with photography began when he was a teenager, due to difficulties at that time he had to put his passion for photography aside for a while. But he never lost his love for the techniques used, and the expressionism available within the art of photography. Even though self-taught, he immersed himself in dozens of books, awaiting the time when he could again engage fully with photography.
This constant gathering of knowledge and experience, proved critical later when he returned and began working professionally as a photographer in 2015.
Nowadays he works mainly with models, but he is also captivated by landscape and ‘street’ photography. His style is predominantly soft and natural, rarely dark or quirky. The aesthetics of his works’ capture a sense that emotion can be tangible and perceptible within photography. Technically, my shots often look like argentic photography although I work almost exclusively in digital.
My work is about freedom and sensuality. The body without norm, without age, without shame.
Laurent is inspired by the masters Lucien Clergue, Jean Francois Jonvelle,Jean Loup Sieff.
Though more recently the works of Ruslan Lovanov, Corwin Prescott, Fomento and Fomento and Nicolas Guerin inspire him, to name a few.
Whilst having a clear individual ‘presence and identity’ as a photographer, Laurent continues to explore and investigate, always pushing to extend his creativity and practice in order to keep his work fresh and original.
